Alexander Rhys is based between Birmingham and London. Studying Fine Art at Bath Spa University where he explored the role of Art in Therapy, Alexander took inspiration from the ‘everyday’ material and discarded objects that he collects from the surroundings of his studio in Digbeth. Alexander uses this collection of found objects to apply the pigment to the surface of the canvas to work in a spontaneous and experimental process. The thick layers of paint create a landscape containing a network of intermixing gestures.
