This exhibition is composed of layered forms, each representing a feeling, a fragment of the artist’s character, soul, and lived experience. Together, the paintings reflect the complexity of becoming and how identity forms through accumulation, tension, and endurance.
Inspired by trees and changing seasons, interwoven strands suggest continuous growth, while binding bands appear as symbols of resistance. Yet resistance does not stop growth, it intensifies it. Durable growth persists even when constrained. Rooted in Anissa’s experience of Iran, a place of both beauty and trauma, this exhibition speaks to resilience and transformation under pressure.
