HOT PLATE: SoupptVIII


Stryx presents the recently selected HOT PLATE: Soup ptVIII early career artists in residence:  Maya Davis Stokes, Hadis Ensafi, Gugan Gill and Tegen Kimbley joined by mid career artists Alex Billingham and Lexi Strauss, who will also be providing mentoring. Early career artists will exhibit their work in three stages. Meet the Artists exhibition: an introduction to the artists and their current practices. Curated Open Studios exhibition: where the artists will show work undertaken in and around the gallery. Lastly a Final Group Exhibition: this acts as the accumulation of all their experimenting and research throughout the residency.

Early career artists will then exhibit solo shows in 01902 Gallery, Wolverhampton. 

Mid career artists will have their own residecy period in Minerva Works, culminating in solo exhibitions in October and December, respectively. 

HOT PLATE: SoupptVIII Artist Residency and Development Programme, is the newest iteration of the established Soup residency, providing a combined approach to the growth of local artistic talent, partnering with 01902 Gallery in Wolverhampton.

The project is a catalyst to strengthen relationships & exchanges between the partners, supporting a strategy to build a strong connected local arts community and allows expansion of networks & diversification of audiences across Birmingham and Wolverhampton.
