Lexi Strauss is a visual artist and sometimes clown activist, working with humour, performance, painting, costume, animation, puppetry, knitting, needlepoint, cake and anything else she fancies.
‘What a year… the perpetuation of appalling global mess. Then work, care duties, the menopause, just getting out of bed every day and attempting to stay creative…
I really want to remain present and useful somehow… yet the sofa beckons, a spot of crafting, a cup of tea and cake, a true crime podcast. How to not disappear here?
I’ll be sitting on my sofa every Tuesday during my November Stryx residency. Join me here too, for tea, cake, needlepoint and socio-political chat chat.
On Friday November 6th I’ll also be joined by Emalee Beddowes, curator of Hereford Museum and Art Gallery, and fellow clown Morgan George, from my folk clown performance ‘Cheese Dream’, to discuss why and how, together, we managed to create this absurdist work for the Herefordshire Museums Trust earlier this year.’
