Mothership Press Release

We’re delighted to invite you to the Mothership Exhibition, a celebration of creativity, care, and collaboration, running from Tuesday 11th February to Saturday 19th April 2025 at Stryx in the Jewellery Quarter.

This special showcase highlights the inspiring work created by mother-artists and their children during the Mothership Residency, which ran from October 2024 to February 2025. Rooted in the ethos of inclusivity and support, the Mothership Studio provides a unique co-working creative space with integrated, radical childcare options. This residency offers a ground-breaking model for empowering mothers to continue their artistic practice and navigate the challenges of caregiving without the constraints of traditional childcare systems.

Join us to celebrate the incredible outcomes of this project during our Open Studio on Saturday, 15th February, from 12–3 pm, followed by the Private View from 3–6 pm. The exhibition will be open to the public Tuesday to Saturday, 10 am–4 pm.

The Mothership Residency was inspired by conversations with

local mother-artists attending Stryx's children’s activities and the Birmingham M/others Who Make hub. Featuring work by talented artists such as Charlotte Bailey, Isabella Dogliani, Emma Bowen, Lucy Bowser, Sylwia Ciszewska-Peciak, Jo Essen, Sevonah Golabi, Natalie Mason, Gayatri Pasricha, Maisie Violet Rees, Faye Robinson, and Natalie Zervou, this exhibition offers a moving exploration of creativity shaped by care.

We look forward to welcoming you to celebrate this vital and vibrant work with us.
