This programme was created to support the professional development of mother artists / creatives allowing them time and space to return to / re-engage with their practices, while encouraging creative experimentation.
As a Mothers Who Make hub for Birmingham we understand the unique challenges of balancing artistic practice with caregiving responsibilities and aim to support and value both roles equally. This residency aims to alleviate some obstacles, by providing a fully funded, supportive studio space for creative work and reflection, as well as a developmental environment for your child through an incorporated childcare provision.
This is a pilot project and we are excited to work alongside the selected artists to learn and work out what shape this provision should take to really make a difference.
