The Mothership Residency Open Call/ For Mother Creatives + Expectant Mothers/ New Application Deadline: 2pm, 29th October
We’ve been listening to our community.
Following conversations with mothers and expectant mothers who have been in touch with us about the residency, we’re opening the call again and expanding eligibility to include women who are currently pregnant.
The call remains open to mothers and primary caregivers with children aged 0–2.
We are now also inviting applications from women who are currently pregnant.
The Mothership Residency is a 6-month, fully funded opportunity for 4 mother artists and creatives, taking place from March–September 2027 at Stryx Jewellery Quarter.
We welcome early- and mid-career creatives from any discipline who are ready to re-engage with their practice in a supportive, child-inclusive environment.
The residency offers dedicated studio space, on-site childcare and financial support, creating time and space for mothers to develop their creative practice alongside caring responsibilities.
What’s included
- Dedicated studio space at Stryx Jewellery Quarter
- Full-time studio access
- 4 hours of on-site childcare per week
- £500 production micro-bursary
- Final exhibition at Stryx
- Opportunities to deliver public workshops and talks
- Access to Stryx Studio Holder meetings, crits and skill shares
- Free access to Mothers Who Make, Mini Stryx and Stryx for Kids
