Ray is a poet, spoken word performer, workshop facilitator, content writer, professional eavesdropper and caffeine enthusiast based in Birmingham. His debut pamphlet ‘creature without building’ won the V. Press prize for poetry and was released in August 2022. Ray enjoys provoking thought through humour and discomfort with his audiences. He is interested in ‘form being an extension of content’ and how that can differ through spoken and written word. Tense, form and format is something Ray enjoys experimenting with, along with exploring the intersectionality of his identities.
This was the first time Ray explored VR. For SPOT he interjected his poetry with small physical wall based sculptures that audiences were invited to view in 3D via Stryx’s VR headsets.
