Becoming Daisy

“Watch me, a disabled artist confined to bed, transform into my only childhood and imaginary friend ‘Daisy’ with the help of a spoon collection I inherited from Dad. My confinement to bed coincides with Dad’s sudden passing six years ago. As the mobility in my legs decreases I’ve developed an obsession with wings.”

Becoming Daisy is a work in progress performance, performed via live stream from the safety of my bed and projected in the gallery space. Although most performance artists perform ‘in person’ my health makes this impossible. I love performance art and hope more Museums, Galleries and Theatres will be open to live streaming artists like myself who struggle to leave home.”

STOCK POT STORIES: Soup ptVII Artist Residency and Development Programme, is the newest iteration of the established Soup residency, providing a combined approach to the growth of local artistic talent, partnering with Eagle Works in Wolverhampton.

The project is a catalyst to strengthen relationships & exchanges between the partners, supporting a strategy to build a strong connected local arts community and allows expansion of networks & diversification of audiences across Birmingham and Wolverhampton.
