SOUP Reidency (Digbeth, Birmingham)SOUP is our flagship artist residency supporting West Midlands-based early-career to mid-career artists working across disciplines. Taking place at our Digbeth project space, this 2-month residency offers shared studio access, mentoring, and a chance to develop new work in a vibrant artistic community. It culminates in a solo exhibition and includes a residency bursary based on Artist Union England rates. Ideal for artists looking to push their practice in a collaborative, process-focused setting.

Spot VR Residency (Digbeth, Birmingham)Spot VR is a digital-focused residency for West Midlands-based early-career artists from the global majority, with a priority for female-identifying applicants. This 4–8 week residency supports artists exploring VR for the first time or developing existing digital practices. With curatorial and technical support, artists will create and exhibit new work at Stryx’s Minerva Works gallery as part of Digbeth First Friday. No previous VR experience is required—just a willingness to experiment.

The Mothership Residency (Jewellery Quarter, Birmingham)The Mothership supports mother creatives with children aged 0–5 who are without a studio space. This 3-month residency provides fully funded studio access and 12 hours of on-site childcare per week, plus a micro-bursary, training, and exhibition opportunities. It’s designed to nurture both creative and caregiving roles equally, offering space, community, and time to re-engage with artistic practice in a supportive environment.Apply here
